About Punch Tree Lodge

Punch Tree Lodge is situated in the historic grounds of the former Maudslie Castle, near Carluke in the heart of the South Lanarkshire countryside.
Owner Joanne moved to the area in 2019 and completed a full renovation of the lodge, creating a unique and luxurious holiday rental experience.
The open-plan lodge sleeps two and is perfect for couples – it’s secluded and quiet with a patio, wood-burning stove, fully fitted kitchenette and luxury bathroom.
Guests can explore over five acres of beautiful gardens, fir woodlands and redwood sequoia groves.

As we hadn't run a holiday let before, we were quite anxious and didn't know where to start. We gave it a go & very quickly realised that joining Travelnest was definitely the right thing to do.

The challenges

With no prior experience as a vacation rental host, owner Joanne was keen to get things right, and make a success of Punch Tree Lodge from the start. Joanne was concerned about where bookings would come from, and the admin involved in setting up listings and dealing with bookings herself.
